Giulio Rimondi 

Giulio Rimondi is an Italian photographer, born in the year 1984. He found his passion for photography when he began traveling around the world and meeting interesting people in his journey. In his book Beirut Nocturne, Rimondi captures unusual portraits in the capital of Lebanon. His photographs are black-and-white, which I think is fascinating because, it lets the viewers interpret the photographs for themselves. What I like about his photographs is its static-vitality. His portraits reveal the individuals’ soul and vibrancy.

Andreas Feininger

Born in Paris, France, Andreas Feininger was an American photographer and writer. His interest in photography developed when he was studying architecture in Germany. In the year 1939, Feininger moved to New York City to become a freelance photographer. In his book, ‘A photographer’s life’, he was celebrated for his black-and-white scenes of Manhattan and other natural objects, including sculpture.

Fazal Sheikh 

Fazal Sheikh is an American photographer, born in the year 1965. He attended Princeton University. He photographs portraits and documents individuals in small communities in East Africa, Pakistan, Cuba, India, and Afghanistan. Born to a Kenyan father and an American mother, Sheikh rose to fame with his work in refugee camps in Kenya and Southern Africa. In his project, Moksha, Fazal Sheikh traveled to the holy Indian town of Vrindavan where women from all corners of the country spend years in the temple town, until death do them apart. The term ‘Moksha’ comes from individuals overcoming the ill effects of KaliYuga (the last stage of the world), and liberating oneself from the tragedies of human existence and progress to achieving the high state of liberation: Moksha. His portraits are suffused with calmness, divinity, and emotion. He lets his viewers understand that everyone has stories that need to be heard.
